Refuge of Life in Pucallpa, Peru is a safe haven for vulnerable children who once lived in extreme poverty and unsafe conditions. Founded by Pastora Lilly San Martin Cardenas—a former attorney and judge who felt called to care for abandoned children—the home opened its doors in 2023 after years of prayer, perseverance, and partnership. What began as a dream is now a loving refuge where children are protected, nurtured, and given the opportunity to thrive.

Located just outside the city, Refuge of Life features three family-style homes where children live under the care of Christian house parents. Each child receives nutritious meals, quality education, medical care, and trauma-informed support from an onsite psychology team. But more than that, they experience stability, belonging, and love—often for the first time in their lives.
