Matonyok Beekeeping Project

Matonyok Beekeeping Project

A Sweet Solution with Lasting Impact

The Matonyok Children’s Home & Primary School is launching a sustainable beekeeping initiative—a powerful response to economic, environmental, and educational needs in rural Tanzania.

With 50 Langstroth beehives and Apis Mellifera bees, they plan to cultivate more than honey—they will grow opportunity, resilience, and hope.

Your gift will fund:

🐝 50 Modern Beehives

🧑‍🏫 Hands-on Beekeeping Education for Students

🌱 Pollination & Biodiversity Support in the Local Ecosystem

💛 Ongoing Income to Sustain Matonyok’s Daily Operations

🌱 Why Beekeeping?
This innovative project is more than honey production:

Income Generation: The honey harvested will be sold locally, directly supporting food, school fees, healthcare, and other essential needs for the children at Matonyok.

Environmental Stewardship: Bees support pollination, enriching local agriculture and promoting biodiversity in Mmbuko.

Youth Education & Empowerment: Children will gain practical skills in agriculture, environmental care, and entrepreneurship—training that aligns with Tanzania’s national development goals.

Community Uplift: As the program grows, it will empower neighboring families to replicate this sustainable model, promoting local self-reliance.
